The Vasterival’s hydrangea collection is well-known for its beauty and for the impressive appearance of certain individual subjects. All species have been planted and placed in accordance with their specific needs and associated with trees and shrubs in a most natural way to form attractive scenes from June (H. scandens, H. serrata) to September (H. kawakamii, H. involucrata, H. strigosa). Many display beautiful colours until December. Princess G. Sturdza selected numerous varieties (some sold on the market) which flower beautifully and abundantly each year thanks to her simple but very unique pruning method.
